Early in 2023 we went out for our biggest tour since before the pandemic. Playing on stage together for 5-6 hours a day throughout the tour we felt the music and improvisation had reached new peaks of creativity and precision. The tour closed with a big show in Pittsburgh (a city that feels like a second home). The entire show felt like the culmination of what we had been working on over the tour, so it seemed like a great choice for Lotus's first full live show release.
Little did we know the show would take on a much bigger significance. On March 16, 2023 the world lost Chuck Morris and his son Charley in a tragic kayaking accident. Chuck was Lotus's percussionist for over 20 years. We hope to honor him with this release and give people a chance to remember Chuck through the music of his final show.
